Station Manager David Rowell can occasionally be heard on air, helping out, but most of the time is not as visible as the main on-air “personalities”.
He presents the “96 Country Jukebox” every Saturday evening from 7pm until midnight, where you can phone or text in your requests, dedications, and other comments, and get your classic country songs played in the program. The studio hot-line to phone or text your requests is (979)543-9610.
David likes to joke that he is more a country boy than anyone else in the station. He comes from a place where the sheep outnumbered people, formerly by about 25 to one, and which produces more dairy products per person than anywhere else in the world. As evidence of that past, he still has a distinctive accent. He describes himself as an American by choice, not by birth, and is appreciatively proud of now being a Texan.
